Specimen Type Describes the specimen type validated for testing


Specimen Required Defines the optimal specimen. This field describes the type of specimen required to perform the test and the preferred volume to complete testing. The volume allows automated processing, fastest throughput and, when indicated, repeat or reflex testing.

Specimen #1 collection must occur between 10 weeks, 0 days and 13 weeks, 6 days gestation (crown-rump length (CRL) must measure between 3.4 and 8.5 cm).


Draw blood in a plain red-top tube(s), serum gel tube is acceptable. Spin down and send 0.5 mL serum refrigerated in a plastic vial.


Separate from cells ASAP or within 2 hours of collection.
