Detection of antibodies in patients having blastomycosis


This test should be used as an aid for the diagnosis of central nervous system (CNS) blastomycosis.


A single negative result by this assay does not exclude diagnosis of CNS blastomycosis. Cerebrospinal fluid (CSF) fungal cultures and PCR for Blastomyces dermatitidis are recommended alongside serologic testing.
