Specimen Required Defines the optimal specimen. This field describes the type of specimen required to perform the test and the preferred volume to complete testing. The volume allows automated processing, fastest throughput and, when indicated, repeat or reflex testing.

SUBMIT ONE OF THE FOLLOWING SPECIMEN TYPES:

 

Plasma

Draw blood in a yellow-top (ACD) or purple-top (EDTA) tube(s).

Spin down and send 1.0 mL (0.5 mL min) ACD or EDTA plasma

frozen.

 

Serum

Draw blood in a red-top tube(s). Spin down and send 1.0 mL

(0.5 mL min) serum frozen.
