Draw blood in a lavender-top (EDTA) tube(s). (Plasma gel tube

is not acceptable.) Spin down and send 3 mL of EDTA

plasma frozen in plastic vial.

Note:  1. Indicate plasma on request form.

            2. Label specimen appropriately (plasma).

 

Serum

Draw blood in a plain, red-top tube(s). (Serum gel tube is not

acceptable.) Spin down and send 3 mL of serum frozen in

plastic vial.

Note:  1. Indicate serum on request form.

            2. Label specimen appropriately (serum).
