Specimen Required

5 mL from a 24-hour urine collection. Patient must not consume

Any alcohol for 24 hours before the specimen is collected.

Add 10 g of boric acid as preservative at start of collection.

See "Urine Preservatives" in Special Instructions for multiple

collections. Mix well before taking 5-mL aliquot. Send specimen

refrigerated in a plastic, 13-mL urine tube.

Note:    24-hour volume is required on request form for

                  processing.
