Specimen Required

0.5 mL of spinal fluid. Send specimen refrigerated in a

screw-capped, round-bottom, plastic vial. Forward promptly.

Note:    1.  When this test is ordered, serum and spinal fluid

                       are recommended. In addition to this test, order #83155

                       "Eastern Equine Encephalitis Antibody, IgG and IgM, Serum"

                       under a separate accession number. The serum specimen

                       will be used to aid in interpretation of the spinal fluid results.

2.   This test is not offered for specimens originating in New

     York.
