Specimen Required

Serum and spinal fluid are required for this test. Spinal fluid

must be obtained within 1 week of serum draw.

 

Serum

Draw blood in a plain, red-top tube(s) or a serum gel tube(s).

Spin down and send 0.5 mL of serum refrigerated.

Note: Label specimen appropriately (serum).

 

Spinal Fluid

0.5 mL of spinal fluid. Send specimen refrigerated.

Note: Label specimen appropriately (spinal fluid).

Transport Temperature

Refrig\Frozen OK\Ambient <7 days OK
