Test ID: FIL2S
Interleukin 2 Receptor (CD25), Soluble

Specimen Type Describes the specimen type needed for testing

Varies

Specimen Required Defines the optimal specimen. This field describes the type of specimen required to perform the test and the preferred volume to complete testing. The volume allows automated processing, fastest throughput and, when indicated, repeat or reflex testing.

Submit only 1 of the following specimens:

Serum

Draw blood in a plain red-top tube(s), serum gel tube is acceptable. Spin down within 2 hours of collection and freeze immediately. Send 1 mL of serum frozen in a plastic vial.

Separate specimens must be submitted when multiple tests are ordered.

Plasma

Draw blood in a green-top (lithium heparin) tube(s), plasma gel tube is not acceptable. Spin down within 2 hours of collection and freeze immediately. Send 1 mL lithium heparin plasma frozen in a plastic vial.

Separate specimens must be submitted when multiple tests are ordered.

Specimen Minimum Volume Defines the amount of specimen required to perform an assay once, including instrument and container dead space. Submitting the minimum specimen volume makes it impossible to repeat the test or perform confirmatory or perform reflex testing. In some situations, a minimum specimen volume may result in a QNS (quantity not sufficient) result, requiring a second specimen to be collected.
