Specimen Type Describes the specimen type needed for testing

Tissue

Specimen Required Defines the optimal specimen. This field describes the type of specimen required to perform the test and the preferred volume to complete testing. The volume allows automated processing, fastest throughput and, when indicated, repeat or reflex testing.

Container/Tube: Sterile container with 10% neutral buffered formalin, Trump's solution, or tissue embedded in paraffin

Specimen Volume: Entire specimen

Collection Instructions: For the evaluation of adriamycin cardiotoxicity, specimens should be fixed in glutaraldehyde or Trump's solution. These specimens will be evaluated by transmission electron microscopy at an additional charge.

Additional Information: The clinical differential diagnoses and the name and phone number of the pathologist or cardiologist involved with the case are required.
