Specimen Required Defines the optimal specimen. This field describes the type of specimen required to perform the test and the preferred volume to complete testing. The volume allows automated processing, fastest throughput and, when indicated, repeat or reflex testing.

A preliminary pathology report and brief history are required for all Neuromuscular Pathology Consultations.

Specimen Type: Muscle specimen

Collection Instructions: Submit all stains performed on the case. If electron microscopy (EM) has been performed, include EM images (either on a CD or as prints).

Additional Information:

1. A brief explanatory note or consultative letter is necessary.
