Specimen Required

Draw blood in a royal blue-top metal free Monoject EDTA blood

collection tube (Supply T183), and send 2 mL of EDTA whole blood.

A tan-top metal free (lead only) B-D EDTA collection tube (supply

T615) or B-D MICROTAINER (Supply T174) is also acceptable.

It is important that the specimen be obtained, processed, and

transported according to instructions in "Metals Analysis -

Collection and Transport" in Special Instructions.

Note:     1.  Patient's date of birth is required on request form

                 for processing.

2.   Please complete a "Lead/Heavy Metals Reporting Form"

     (Supply T491) or see "Special Instructions." Forward it

     with the specimen, or send the demographic information

     electronically.
