Method Description

Analysis is  performed using the Radiometer ABL 700 series instrument.

Heparinized whole blood is utilized to measure pH and PCO2 by

interacting with an ion-selective pH electrode and a Severinghaus

CO2 electrode. The standard plasma bicarbonate is then calculated.
