Unit Code 8413:
Manganese, Serum

Print Friendly View

Method Description

150 uL of each serum sample is diluted with 150 uL of reagent-grade

water and 2,700 uL of acidic diluent (1% HNO[3]) containing gallium,

cobalt, and yttrium internal standards. The diluted samples are then

vortexed and analyzed via dynamic reaction cell-inductively coupled

plasma-mass spectrometer (DRC-ICP-MS). The sample's raw

intensity is compared to a plasma matrix-matched calibration curve,

which spans from 0 ng/mL Mn spike to 10.90 ng/mL Mn spike

standards. Gallium, cobalt, and yttrium are combined as the internal

standard for manganese analysis, and the intensity of manganese

is adjusted according to the intensities of the internal standard.
