Enzyme immunoassay (EIA). Patient serum is mixed with biotinylated
C1s. If the C1 inhibitor is functional, it will bind the biotin-C1s and
be bound to avidin-coated plates. The C1 inhibitor, which is immobilized
through its binding to C1s, is then detected with an enzyme-linked
antibody to C1 inhibitor and a colorimetric assay. (Package insert:
