Method Description

Haloperidol, reduced haloperidol (its major metabolite), and the internal

standard (haloperidol d4) are extracted from alkaline serum into 5%

isopropyl alcohol in hexane.  The organic fraction is dried and reconstituted

with methanol.  Analysis is performed on an isocratic liquid chromatography

(LC) system with tandem mass spectrometry (MS/MS) detection.  (Hempenius J,
