Inductively coupled plasma-mass spectrometry. Samples are diluted with
aqueous acidic diluent containing internal standard. The resulting solution
is pumped into a radio-frequency induced argon plasma where it is
ionized at approximately 8000K. The ions of interest are selected by using
a quadrupole mass filter and recorded with an electron multiplier detector.

spectrometry for trace element analysis in the clinical laboratory. Ann Clin
