Method Description

The latex agglutination reagents consist of polystyrene latex particles

coated with antibodies to the bacterial antigens of interest. These

particles agglutinate in the presence of sufficient homologous antigen.

The Neisseria meningitidis polyvalent reagent reacts with groups A, C,

Y, and W135 antigens. Neisseria meningitidis  group B antigen is

related structurally and immunologically to the Escherichia coli K1

antigen and both react with the Neisseria meningitidis group B
