Test ID: ANAR
Antinuclear Antibodies (ANA), IFA with Reflex to Connective Tissue Disease Antibodies

NY State Approved Indicates the status of NY State approval and if the test is orderable for NY State clients.

Yes

Useful For Suggests clinical disorders or settings where the test may be helpful

Evaluation of patients with signs and symptoms compatible with connective tissue diseases

The testing algorithm is useful in the initial evaluation of patients and performs best in clinical situations in which the prevalence of disease is low

Profile Information A profile is a group of laboratory tests that are ordered and performed together under a single Mayo Test ID. Profile information lists the test performed, inclusive of the test fee, when a profile is ordered and includes reporting names and individual availability.

Test IDReporting NameAvailable SeparatelyAlways Performed
ANAH2Antinuclear Ab, HEp-2 Substrate, SYesYes

Reflex Tests Lists test(s) that may or may not be performed, at an additional charge, depending on the result and interpretation of the initial test(s)

Test IDReporting NameAvailable SeparatelyAlways Performed
ANABAntinuclear Antibody (Multiple), SNoNo
ADNADNA Double-Stranded Ab, IgG, SYesNo
RIBRibosome P Ab, IgG, SYesNo
ENAEAb to Extractable Nuclear Ag Eval,SYesNo

Testing Algorithm Delineates situation(s) when tests are added to the initial order. This includes reflex and additional tests.

If ANA HEp-2 substrate screen is positive, then ANAB will be performed at an additional charge. If the ANAB contains a titer of <1:160 or a centromere pattern the cascade will stop and results will be reported. A titer > or =1:160 will cause ADNA, RIB, and ENAE tests to be performed at an additional charge.

Method Name A short description of the method used to perform the test

Immunofluorescence Assay (IFA)

Reporting Name A shorter/abbreviated version of the Published Name for a test; an abbreviated test name

ANA Reflex to CTD Ab, S

Aliases Lists additional common names for a test, as an aid in searching
