MEASLES (RUBEOLA) IgG, IFA
Reference Range: <1:8
Interpretive Criteria:
<1:8 Suggests susceptibility to Rubeola infection.
> or = 1:8 Indicates immunity due to prior exposure to Rubeola.
Measles antibody titers greater than or equal to
1:8 generally indicate immunity to Rubeola infection.
However, asymptomatic reinfection can occur in persons
who have previously developed antibodies following
vaccination or natural disease. Symptomatic reinfections
are rare. These reinfections have been accompanied by rises
in measles antibody titers.
MUMPS IgG ANTIBODY, IFA (SERUM)
Reference Range: <1:16
Interpretive Criteria:
<1:16 Antibody not detected
> or = 1:16 Antibody detected
The presence of IgG antibody to mumps indicates
prior exposure to the mumps virus and immunity to
mumps. A four-fold or greater increase in IgG
titer between acute and convalescent sera
indicates recent or current mumps infection. False
positive results for mumps IgG antibody may occur
due to antibody crossreactivity to parainfluenza
RUBELLA IgG ANTIBODY, ELISA (SERUM)
Referance Range: <10 IU/mL
Interpretive Criteria:
<10 IU/mL Non-protective Antibody level
> or = 10 IU/mL Protective Antibody level
Patient results equal to or greater than 10 IU/mL
indicate past exposure to either rubella virus or
vaccine and probable protection from clinical
infection. Antibody levels less than 10 IU/mL may
be insufficient to provide protection from rubella
virus infection.
