Encainide (Enkaid ), ODE and MODE

Reference Values Describes reference intervals and additional information for interpretation of test results. May include intervals based on age and sex when appropriate. Intervals are Mayo-derived, unless otherwise designated. If an interpretive report is provided, the reference value field will state this.

Encainide:

Reference Range: 15-100 ng/mL

 

O-Demethylencainide (ODE):

Reference Range: 100-300 ng/mL

 

3-Methoxy-ODE (MODE):

Reference Range: 60-300 ng/mL

 

10% of patients do not form therapeutic

concentrations of the active metabolites, ODE and

MODE. In these patients the recommended range

for the encainide concentration is 300-1200 ng/mL.
