Test ID: FIL2R
Interleukin-2 Receptor(IL-2R),ELISA

Reference Values Describes reference intervals and additional information for interpretation of test results. May include intervals based on age and sex when appropriate. Intervals are Mayo-derived, unless otherwise designated. If an interpretive report is provided, the reference value field will state this.

Reference Range:  <970 Units/mL

INTERPRETIVE CRITERIA:   <970  Normal Level

                                                            > or = 970  Elevated Level

Clinical conditions in which elevated soluble IL-2R levels

are detected include AIDS, autoimmune diseases, sarcoidosis,

and a variety of leukemias and lymphomas. In HIV positive

individuals, IL-2R is elevated during the asymptomatic phase

as well as during persistent generalized lymphadenopathy and

symptomatic phases.  IL-2R detection may be useful in

measuring T-cell activation and monitoring HIV pathogenesis.

Elevated IL-2R levels may also have clinical and prognostic

significance in patients with malignant lymphoma, non-

Hodgkin's lymphoma, B-cell lymphoma, and undifferentiated

lymphomas.
