ARSENIC
Normal: <120 ug/specimen
Toxic concentration: > or =5,000 ug/specimen
LEAD
Normal: <80 ug/specimen
Indeterminate: 80-400 ug/specimen
Abnormal: >400 ug/specimen
MERCURY
Normal: <10 ug/specimen
Toxic concentration: >50 ug/specimen
The concentration at which toxicity is expressed is widely
variable between patients. 50 ug/specimen is the lowest
concentration at which toxicity is usually apparent.
CADMIUM
<3.0 ug/specimen
Specimens collected for other than a 24 hour time period are
reported in unit of ug/L, for which reference values are not
established.
High concentrations of gadolinium and iodide are known to interfere
with most metals tests. If either gadolinium or iodide-containing
contrast media has been administered a specimen can not be
collected for 48 hours.
