Test ID: IGFP
Insulin-Like Growth Factor 1 (IGF-1) and Insulin-Like Growth Factor Binding Protein 3 (IGFBP-3) Growth Panel

Useful For Suggests clinical disorders or settings where the test may be helpful

This is the preferred test for assessing growth hormone-related disorders (eg, growth disorders, including acromegaly and gigantism; adult growth hormone deficiency) and for monitoring recombinant growth hormone treatment.

Measurement of both insulin-like growth factor 1 and insulin-like growth factor binding protein 3 appears superior to determining either analyte alone, for all clinical applications.

See Individual Unit Codes.

Clinical Information Discusses physiology, pathophysiology, and general clinical aspects, as they relate to a laboratory test

See Individual Unit Codes

Reference Values Describes reference intervals and additional information for interpretation of test results. May include intervals based on age and sex when appropriate. Intervals are Mayo-derived, unless otherwise designated. If an interpretive report is provided, the reference value field will state this.
