Patient Service Centers: The Laboratory’s Presence Outside the Hospital
August 8, 2013
Expires August 8, 2015
Video Length: 12 minutes
In this presentation:
When a physician or medical provider orders laboratory testing, the specimen is collected in one of two locations. Either within the office itself, either by office staff or laboratory staff – OR outside the provider’s office, in a Patient Service Center. Also known as Draw Site, Blood Collection site, outpatient phlebotomy, or by its initials – PSC. These locations may be located on the hospital campus, or in free-standing locations that are placed strategically for patient convenience.
In this presentation, Jane Hermansen discusses strategies that our Mayo Medical Laboratories customers use in order to successfully provide phlebotomy access and service for their patients.
