2008 Quality Management Series
Mayo Medical Laboratories is offering four new 2008 Quality Management Series interactive audio and Web conferences. Join our Quality Coordinators as they present information on how to build quality into the laboratory and maintain excellence in testing services.
Quality Systems thinking is the first step to applying the 12 Quality System Essentials consistently throughout your laboratory's operational areas. Implementing these principles can help your laboratory avoid costly and critical errors and change your approach from detection to prevention. Applying these principles also links the patient from the beginning of the path of workflow to the end.
Mayo Medical Laboratories developed this Quality Management System based on the Clinical and Laboratory Standards Institute (CLSI) HS1-A2 guideline, A Quality Management System Model for Health Care. Our system has 12 Quality System Essentials (QSEs). It focuses on continuous quality improvement to enhance the laboratory’s ability to meet and exceed the requirements of regulatory agencies and to provide quality service to its customers.
This system is designed to ensure a continuous link between the beginning of the path of work flow to the end. It also improves test result accuracy and reliability, reduces error rates and ultimately enhances quality of patient care.
Mayo Medical Laboratories Quality Coordinators share their experiences in building a Quality Management System. You have an opportunity to assess your current systems and processes and generate solutions to implement Quality System Essentials in your laboratory. Presenters supply collateral templates and documents. Participants are encouraged to share their insights and experiences from having a Quality Management System in their laboratory.
