2008 Process Improvement Series
Mayo Medical Laboratories invites you to participate in the 2008 Process Improvement Series. We offer four sessions, one each quarter, that address several process improvement methodologies.
The mission of the Systems Engineering Team at Mayo Clinic’s Department of Laboratory Medicine and Pathology (DLMP) is to Partner with DLMP leadership and staff to continuously improve Safety, Quality and Value through the application of appropriate process development and improvement methods.
This team has substantial knowledge related to how process improvement tools can be applied to the health care system. Throughout this four-part series, presenters will share that knowledge and their experiences with session participants.

Attendance at the 2008 Process Improvement Series does not indicate nor guarantee competence or proficiency in the performance of any procedures which may be discussed or taught.
Format
The series format will be an interactive audio and Web conference. The presentation handout will be e-mailed prior to the conference call and may also be viewed via Global Crossing Live Meeting technology. Global Crossing requires Internet Explorer 5.0 or higher. Presentations will be tailored based upon pre-submitted questions from participants. Program time also will be set aside to address questions that arise during the presentation.
Intended Audience
This series is intended for laboratory administrators and managers, quality assurance and control staff, supervisors, and other laboratory personnel dedicated to continuous process improvement.
Objectives
After participating in this series, attendees should be able to:
- Introduce key process improvement methodologies
- Share examples of how to apply the methodologies to laboratory medicine
Credit
Mayo Medical Laboratories is approved as a provider of continuing education programs in the Clinical Laboratory Sciences by the ASCLS P.A.C.E. ® program. These programs have been approved for a maximum of 1.5 P.A.C.E. contact hours. Level of instruction for these programs is intermediate.
Mayo Medical Laboratories is approved as a Continuing Education Accrediting Agency for Clinical Laboratory Science for State of California and State of Florida credit. The level of instruction for this program is intermediate. This program has been approved for 1.5 contact hours.
