Test Change Moratorium in Effect

A test change moratorium was implemented on May 27, 2011, which will extend until two weeks after our system go live. Test notifications will be significantly reduced during that time. However, there will continue to be a limited number of updates and exceptions for patient safety or test-down-related issues.

We appreciate your patience and assistance as we have worked through the required Mayo test changes. As a reminder, the large volume of test changes was necessary to:

• Provide you greater flexibility and specimen source specific test ordering
• Minimize the impact of Mayo's LIS change
• Take advantage of functionality within our new LIS system
• Ensure all test and sample types comply with Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services (CMS) validation requirements
