How do I package and ship infectious material?

By law, any person who causes dangerous goods to be transported by a public carrier must follow specific regulations and must have proof of training. See Dangerous Goods Training.

For packaging: The Centers for Disease Control (CDC) lists organisms/diseases that require special packaging and labeling. We can supply you with the required containers, packaging instructions and request forms without charge. Order supplies online from our Supply Catalog.

For shipping: Shipping regulations require that infectious substances affecting humans be shipped in a special manner. For instructions, see Specimen Transport.
