There are times I need to perform a patient name change after I have sent an order through MayoAccess, but when I go to patient demographics, the patient’s name is grayed out. How should change the name for that patient and order?

When an order has been sent to the lab it is important to notify Mayo Medical Laboratories of the name change so they can update their LIS to ensure the results they are sending back to MayoAccess are correctly identified for that patient. Once there are no longer pending results on the patient the patient demographics can be updated in the MayoAccess system.
