I think we are all aware that there are two ways to obtain a differential count.  First, the manual differential count is the traditional but labor intensive method that requires having highly skilled and experienced technologists.  In addition, the manual differential count is inherently associated with a variety of potential errors.  And from a management perspective, the differential count is an expensive labor intensive activity.
