Did You Know...?
Continuing Education Credit for the Communiqué
What is the Communiqué?
The Communiqué is a scientific newsletter that is published 6 times per year and contains articles that are written by Mayo Clinic laboratory professionals and practicing clinicians. Each issue of the Communiqué provides laboratory technologists, laboratory managers, laboratory outreach coordinators, and physicians with an original scientific feature article, information regarding laboratory test utilization, announcements about new diagnostic tests, and descriptions of continuing medical education programs and workshops.
A complimentary subscription to the print copy is provided to Mayo Medical Laboratories’ clients. The Communiqué is also available at www.MayoMedicalLaboratories.com to read, listen to, or download as a podcast.
How do I use the Communiqué?
Communiqué articles are meant to be shared with appropriate clinical and laboratory colleagues to provide insight on new and emerging clinical topics.
You can earn continuing laboratory education credit for reading or listening to the Communiqué. Mayo Medical Laboratories is approved as a provider of continuing education programs in the clinical laboratory sciences by the American Society for Clinical Laboratory Science (ASCLS) Professional Acknowledgment for Continuing Education (PACE) program and provides 0.5 contact hours credit for listening to or reading a Communiqué issue. PACE continuing education contact hours satisfy continuing education requirements for federal regulations, state licensure, certification agencies, and employers.
To obtain ASCLS-PACE credit, click the Credit tab within the Communiqué article. Select the Obtain Credit link and after completing a short quiz, you are able to generate a certificate of attendance to save or print.
