Patient name discrepancies are minimized by patient identifiers including name, medical reference number and date of birth. These identifiers are cross-matched throughout the ordering and resulting process.

MayoAccess continually and automatically updates the system's order codes, preventing orders from being processed with incorrect or obsolete order codes. Users attempting to place orders using incorrect obsolete codes are alerted and provided with the correct/updated codes.

MayoAccess makes it easy to edit orders and add tests to existing orders, which is especially important when your LIS does not contain all Mayo Medical Laboratories orderable tests.
